belly tank:
a salt flat/dry lakes race car which uses a body made from an
auxiliary fuel "drop tank." Drop tanks were originally
carried under the wings of WWII P-38 Lighting fighter aircraft.
These 315gal tanks were much preferred over the smaller versions.

bent eight:
hot rodder term for any V-8 engine.
binders:
hot rodder term for brakes.
blower:
universal racing term for supercharger.
boots:
early hot rodder term for tires.
BNI:
Bonneville Nationals Incorporated is a salt flat racing speed
organization and is still active today.
BTA:
Bell Timing Association dry lakes racing organization.
